About Sereni
Built Around One Belief:
Every Senior Deserves Dignity
Our story begins with a simple question — what would truly respectful care for older adults look like?
Back to HomeOur Story
From a Family's Experience to a Community's Resource
Sereni was founded in Petaling Jaya after its founders spent years navigating the challenges of finding dignified, attentive care for their own elderly relatives. What they encountered — impersonal environments, rushed routines, and limited family involvement — prompted them to build something different.
Established in Ara Damansara, Sereni opened its doors to offer a calmer, more considered approach to senior care. The name itself draws from the Latin root for serenity — a quality the founders felt was missing from most care settings they encountered.
Today, Sereni serves seniors across Selangor through three distinct programmes, each shaped around flexible, personalised support rather than rigid institutional routines.

Mission & Values
What Guides Everything We Do
Dignity First
Every interaction at Sereni — from a morning greeting to a complex care procedure — starts from the premise that each person deserves to feel respected and seen.
Families as Partners
We see family members not as visitors, but as essential voices in care planning. Their knowledge of the resident's life history and preferences shapes how we work.
Continuous Improvement
We review our practices regularly, seek honest feedback from families, and invest in staff training so the quality of care keeps pace with evolving knowledge in elder care.

Every resident has a documented care plan reviewed monthly. Plans address health, nutrition, social activity, and emotional wellbeing — updated with family input.
Staff Training & Development
Care staff participate in regular training covering dementia care, safe patient handling, emergency procedures, and communication with older adults.
Safety & Infection Control
Structured hygiene protocols, fall-prevention measures, and clear infection control procedures are maintained consistently across the facility.
Family Communication
Monthly written reports, open visiting hours, and a direct line to the care team keep families informed and involved without needing to chase updates.
Compliance with Malaysian Health Regulations
Sereni operates in compliance with the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act and maintains all required operational licences from the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Privacy & Data Protection
Resident health records and family information are held securely under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Access is limited to authorised staff.
Senior Care in Petaling Jaya — What Sereni Stands For
In a city as busy as Petaling Jaya, finding senior care that combines medical competence with genuine human warmth is not always straightforward. Sereni exists to address that gap — not just as a care facility, but as a considered environment shaped around older adults' wellbeing across physical, emotional, and social dimensions.
Our Ara Damansara location places residents within a well-connected part of Selangor, close to hospitals, specialist clinics, and family homes across the Klang Valley. We work with families from Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, and surrounding areas who are looking for a trustworthy setting for their parents or relatives.
Choosing a care arrangement for an older family member involves significant trust. We take that seriously. Every family who contacts us will find a team that listens carefully, answers questions transparently, and does not apply pressure of any kind. Our role is to offer clarity and support, at whatever pace feels right for your family.
